When you can stand next to Rihanna and still shine, there’s something to be said about your star power. South Sudanese-Australian model Duckie Thot is shattering beauty standards with her Barbie-like features and deep complexion. Since moving into the top stratosphere of high-fashion modeling in 2016, the 23-year-old former Australia's Next Top Model contestant is now a L’Oreal Paris spokeswoman, dominates Fenty Beauty campaigns, has appeared in countless magazine spreads and is a newly-winged Victoria’s Secret model.
But she’s not just another pretty face. She splits her time fiercely championing inclusion and self-love by being extremely vocal about her own struggles with her skin. "I get messages every day from women all around the world about how they struggle with their skin color and fitting in and being themselves, and I was there at one point as well a few years ago, as a teenager," Thot told W Magazine. "I’m confident in myself now; I’ve found myself, so I think helping others through that is important, especially today.” Bottom line: She’s not only an ambassador for beauty brands, but also for Black girls.
