STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER, INSTAGRAM
Instagram has grown to be a vital social media platform for influencers, celebrities and everyday people. But growing a fanbase requires using all of IG’s key features, from its new long-form video (IGTV), to augmented reality filters. That’s where Besidone Amoruwa’s behind-the-scenes expertise comes into play. As Instagram’s Strategic Partnerships Manger (Beauty, Lifestyle, Gaming), the 30-year-old L.A.-based digital media maven connects beauty, lifestyle and gaming talent to their followers by helping them effectively navigate the photo-sharing service. “Digital storytelling is getting bigger," the Nigerian-American told The Hollywood Reporter. "We're going to see more writers and creatives telling stories that are diverse, inclusive and authentic. I want to be at the forefront."
Non-traditional education for a marketing position aside—a paralegal certificate holder from UCLA and an MBA from Mount Saint Mary's University—her problem-solving skills and an instinctive knack for strategy is what makes her a visionary and one of the tech industry’s rising stars. “When you are able to look at problems as opportunities, that’s when you have an advantage over the people around you,” she says. “Because you’re the one who’s going to solve it and come up with the answer.”
